“Brilliant garnet colour. Intense cherry and blood orange fruit are the driving force behind our Red Hill single vineyard release, together with some earth and graphite aromas and a whisper of integrated mocha oak.
Concentration of fruit together with an abundance of fine tannins and bright acidity provides length and structure. There’s a minerality and savoury line flowing through on the long finish.”

The '17 vintage has produced more restraint and delicacy across the range and none more obvious than with this pinot. Alluring aromatics and ethereal across the palate, the core of light yet sweet cherry fruit, spice and woodsy notes all coming together with the soft tannins. 2020 Halliday Wine Companion.

From our home vineyard in Red Hill, this site sits at 110 metres above sea level and features red volcanic soils. The northerly aspect offers protection from the cool southerlies and plenty of sunshine during ripening. The fruit was hand harvested and diligently sorted before destemming into 2 tonne open fermenters for a 7-day cold soak before the onset of wild fermentation. Ferment temperatures peaked at 32 degrees Celsius. A post ferment maceration of 6 days followed before pressing. The wine was lightly racked to French oak Barriques (27% new) for natural malolactic fermentation and 11 months maturation. | |
