Since 2002, we’ve invited guests to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of our estate at a collection of secluded picnic sites – all of which have been specifically chosen for their unique and stunning locations.

Picnics begin from 11.00am-sharp and run from Thursday to Monday weekly.

Reservations essential.
WHAT'S INCLUDED?

Picnics are $165 per person and include:

  • Hosted wine tasting, featuring our current release wines, in The Cellar Door.
  • Shared 3-course set menu at one of our beautiful private picnic sites.
  • A bottle of Montalto wine (between two people).

SUMMER PICNICS

Enjoy a private picnic under crystal blue skies with the winter sunshine lighting up our estate in all of it's extraordinary beauty.

Picnics are available Thursday - Monday for 2 - 8 people.

All picnics start at 11.00am-sharp and run for 4 hours.

For larger groups, our Trout Dam site is available. Minimum spend of $2000 applies for this site. For more information, CLICK HERE.

** Please note: picnics will be cancelled in the event of heavy rain, gusty winds, storms or extreme temperatures. We will be in touch with you directly if your booking is likely to be impacted.

TWILIGHT SESSIONS

PICNICS AT MONTALTO

Every private picnic begins with a bespoke wine tasting in our Cellar Door. Our highly trained, friendly staff will help you select the perfect wine for your picnic, based on your personal preferences and the generous, seasonal menu showcasing our estate-grown heirloom produce, alongside the very best locally sourced ingredients from across the Mornington Peninsula.

With wine and a detailed map in hand, you’ll gently make your way to your covered, private picnic site where you’ll find your table beautifully set with white linen, tableware and glassware. Enjoy a glass of wine in the sunshine before settling in for lunch.

A selection of stunning starters will be ready for you to enjoy upon your arrival to your picnic site. Magnificent main courses and decadent desserts will be personally delivered by our dedicated Picnic Patrol team.

Need more wine? You can radio our Picnic Patrol anytime and we’ll come straight out with whatever you need. We’re at your service.

When the day is done, wander through The Sculpture Trail before heading back to The Piazza for one last glass of wine looking out across the estate before you go. Don’t forget to pop your head into The Cellar Door to pick up a bottle of your favourite wine to enjoy at home.

RESERVATIONS

Picnics are available by reservation only, for groups of 2 – 8 people.

We recommend making your reservation as early as possible as our picnics are very popular, especially on weekends.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

We have a full vegetarian menu available, view sample menu HERE. We can also cater to most dietary requirements. Please let us know at the time of booking as we are unable to accommodate requests made on the day.

Please note: a surcharge of 15% applies on public holidays.
