Mornington Peninsula
The fruit for this Syrah came from three sites in Tuerong at the northern end of the Peninsula.
'A medium bodied and vibrant Syrah boasting all the typical characteristics expected from a cool climate style.
The nose offers a complex array of fresh red fruits, think red cherries and raspberries. The fruit is supported by baking spices (cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves), star anise, a little ink, tea leaf, forest floor and smoked meats – all-in-all a very complex nose. The palate shows fresh red cherry and cranberry, layered with spice, fine tannins and finishing with a supple, velvety texture. This a moreish and versatile food wine.'
