The Mitchell family have been vignerons in Red Hill since 1999, with our Montalto wines reflecting balanced vine physiology and meticulous attention to detail across our up-hill and down-hill vineyards.
Complex and balanced Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir and Chardonnay is hand-harvested from older vines at five distinguished sites across our cool-climate and coastal location. These vineyards consistently produce wines of great concentration and finesse, with the potential for longevity from careful cellaring.

Matchstick, intensity of citrus and nectarine, burst of flavour with flinty chalkiness, mouth-watering acidity that’s non-abrasive, a little almond and spice on a very long zesty finish. Wonderful.
Gary Walsh, 2019
A bright, light crimson hue is a propitious start, but it's the finish of the palate that is the best starting point, for it's here the full complexity of the wine is revealed. Fresh and blanched cherries and strawberries carry the conversation on for a considerable time. All happy.
James Halliday, 2020
A stellar Pinot. Over a few days, this just shone bright like a diamond - Rihanna like if you will.
"Find light in the beautiful sea," Rhianna says. And I did. Head here and you have that covered. In a market bulging with so many wonderful Pinots, here's a wine that still makes its mark.
It's all dark cherries and earth. Some dark plums and some pan juices tied together with sumptuous savoury notes from the use of whole bunches. Touches of herb with those twiggy things Pinot brings so well with blood orange hiding in the background. Beautifully balanced, give this a chance to breathe and it sings gorgeously with those savoury characters clutching on to what seems a never-ending finish. It's hard to fault Pinots like this - a fabulous wine.
Steve Leszczynski, 2019
