From the maritime vineyards of Red Hill to the broader Mornington Peninsula, Montalto Sparkling wines capture the essence of cool-climate winemaking with traditional Champagne varieties. Crafted by Chief Winemaker Simon Black, each release balances bright fruit with complexity from extended lees ageing, producing wines that are elegant, expressive and built for celebration.
Montalto Sparkling is defined by:
· Fruit spectrum - citrus, strawberry, white peach, apple and red cherry.
· Complexity from lees - almond croissant, barley, brioche, bready nuances.
· Texture - creamy mousse, fine bead, vibrant acidity and lingering freshness.
The result is a Sparkling wine that is both festive and refined, equally at home as an aperitif or paired with food.
Montalto Pennon Hill Sparkling Rosé NV
Crafted from 100% Pinot Noir grown at our Red Hill Vineyard. Bright and energetic, this early-drinking sparkling shows strawberry, red cherry sherbet, apple and rhubarb, finishing creamy with a lace-like thread of acidity. A perfect aperitif, yet generous enough to pair with food.
Montalto Cuvée One 2017
A prestige cuvée from 54% Pinot Noir and 46% Chardonnay, aged extensively on lees. Expect citrus, white peach and florals from Chardonnay, strawberries from Pinot Noir, and complex layers of almond croissant, brioche and savoury barley from lees ageing. Rich upfront, creamy through the mid-palate, finishing long, fresh and tangy.
Montalto’s Sparkling range is frequently recognised for combining cool-climate precision with Champagne-inspired craftsmanship. Extended lees ageing sets these wines apart, adding depth and texture while retaining the Peninsula’s trademark freshness.
