Chardonnay has always been at the heart of Montalto. From our estate vineyards in Red Hill and Tuerong through to our Single Vineyard releases, each wine reflects the cool-climate maritime conditions of the Mornington Peninsula - crisp sea breezes, long ripening seasons, and soils that shape wines of precision, purity and depth.
Our winemaking team balance estate-grown fruit with wild ferments, French oak, and extended lees work (depending on the site), crafting styles that capture both texture and elegance. Every Montalto Chardonnay speaks clearly of place - citrus-bright, stone-fruited and finely structured - with layers that reward both early enjoyment and careful cellaring.
Expect a spectrum of cool-climate flavours: lemon, lime and grapefruit alongside nectarine, white peach and subtle white florals. More complex expressions reveal notes of lemon curd, roasted hazelnut, crème brûlée and a saline line of acidity, delivering balance, freshness and length.
Montalto Chardonnay - a benchmark expression of our estate, blending fruit from across our vineyards.
The Eleven Chardonnay - a Single Vineyard wine of rare detail and age-worthy power.
