AUGUST AT MONTALTO 2025

Winter has well and truly settled over the peninsula, and we’re leaning right into it at Montalto. August is shaping up to be a month full of reasons to get cosy with us.

We’re gearing up for a memorable Father’s Day – with a one-day-only Sunday Roast in The Restaurant, laid-back Piazza bookings, two new gift packs in The Cellar Door and online, plus a bonus gift with purchase when you buy a $100+ voucher onsite. It’s the perfect excuse to spoil Dad (or treat yourself) with something thoughtful, delicious and distinctly Montalto.

For our wine lovers, mark your calendar: our 2024 Single Vineyard pre-release event is happening on Saturday 23rd August. It’s one of the highlights of our year and exclusively for our Alto Wine Club Members – we can’t wait to share these new wines with you.

And while the vineyards rest for the season, our winter menus (and specials!) in both The Restaurant and The Piazza are here to warm you from the inside out.

Cheers,

"I wanted to bring a little bit of home onto the menu this winter, so I’ve taken inspiration from a traditional Scottish soup called Cullen Skink - something I grew up with. It’s usually made with smoked cod, potato and milk, but our version uses grilled Murray cod with roasted leeks and a smoky, creamy sauce made from potato and the cod bones. It’s rich, comforting and a nice way to nod to where I’m from using beautiful local produce."

Adam Johnston, Head Chef

The Restaurant is open Friday – Sunday for lunch. Reservations essential.

“Spring is feeling close now as I harvest the last of our citrus. Winter greens of kales, cabbages and silverbeet are still in abundance as I start my summer crops of chillies, capsicums and eggplants on heat mats in our seed nursery. Radishes, turnips, peas and swedes are harvested in our gardens while I wait to see our asparagus start to poke through the mulched beds.”
