The Restaurant at Montalto is more than a place to dine - it’s a living showcase of what the Mornington Peninsula can offer when land, season and skill align.
Our organic kitchen gardens, olive groves, and orchards provide much of the produce featured on the menu. Estate-grown vegetables, herbs and fruit are picked at their peak, often just hours before service. Montalto's relationships with local farmers and producers complete the picture, ensuring every ingredient is deeply connected to our surroundings.
While the dishes change regularly with the seasons, recent highlights have included heirloom beets with whipped ricotta, wood-roasted duck with quince, and estate lemon curd with burnt meringue. Every element is prepared with intention and respect for the land it came from.
Chef Adam Johnston leads the kitchen with a deep reverence for place. Inspired daily by what the estate offers, Adam’s menus are a dialogue between nature and craft. His cooking is elegant yet grounded, celebrating simplicity, freshness and the quiet luxury of truly local ingredients.
Dining at The Restaurant is never rushed. Each course is paced to allow for conversation, reflection and a connection to the moment. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply escaping the city for a day, every visit is designed to be memorable.
Our curated wine pairings, drawn from Montalto’s award-winning cellar, complement the menu beautifully - or choose your own bottle from the list, featuring award-winning Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, among others.
