With sweeping views across the vines to the sea, The Restaurant at Montalto has long been a destination for those seeking an elevated dining experience on the Mornington Peninsula. Now, from 1st May, The Restaurant enters an exciting new chapter: an evolved seasonal menu format that brings even more choice to your table, while continuing to celebrate Montalto’s renowned estate-to-plate philosophy.
Introducing Our Refined Seasonal Menus
From May, guests can enjoy:
A new 4-course experience – $130 per person
This refined format gives diners the freedom to select their own main course, adding a personal touch to a carefully curated journey through the season's best.
A mid-week 3-course menu – $95 per person
Available Mondays and Fridays, this offering delivers the same immersive experience with one less course - ideal for a weekday escape to the Peninsula.
Each menu is a thoughtful expression of Montalto's estate, guided by the expert hand of Head Chef Adam Johnston, whose connection to the estate's produce forms the heart of every plate.
Settle into The Restaurant for an uplifting, inspiring evening with broadcaster and writer Jacinta Parsons as she celebrates the wisdom gained in ageing as a woman – and redefines the story of the second half of our lives.
Set against the backdrop of an intimate two-course dinner in The Restaurant at Montalto, Parsons will reflect on her own experience of ageing, alongside the powerful stories of the remarkable women she’s encountered - each offering unique tales of resilience, wisdom and grace - and the lessons they’ve imparted.
She joins host Hilary Harper for an honest, thought-provoking and energising conversation about ageing with love and the spirit of rebellion.
“Throughout May we’ll be celebrating the arrival of our new season figs with a truly beautiful new dessert: panna cotta infused with figs leaves, fresh figs, honey syrup and finished off with some crunchy buttery pastry coated in honeycomb. Simple, but a great way to finish our autumn set menu.”
Adam Johnston, Head Chef
The Restaurant is open Friday – Sunday for lunch. Reservations essential.
Warm autumn days are perfect for picnicking at Montalto. Every picnic includes:
Hosted wine tasting, featuring our current release wines, in The Cellar Door.
Shared 3-course set menu at one of our beautiful private picnic sites.
A bottle of Montalto wine (between two people).
Picnics are available at 6 stunning private picnic sites from Thursday – Monday. All picnics begin at 11am-sharp.
“Frosty mornings and a good bit of rain have heralded the start of pine mushroom season!
Our polytunnels are now full with winter crops of carrots, beetroots and radishes while our Piazza beds fill out quickly with beautiful wombok cabbages, cauliflowers, kales, Cime Di Rapa and broad beans.
The last of our Granny Smith apples are harvested and our orchard goes to sleep while I dust off my raincoat and gumboots.”
Julie Bennett, Produce Manager
