Inspired by many conversations with women across the country, A Wisdom of Age captures the brewing tone of revolution that sits in the hearts of women who are ready to tell a new kind of story about the experience of growing older.
Set against the backdrop of an intimate two-course dinner in The Restaurant at Montalto, Parsons will reflect on her own experience of ageing, alongside the powerful stories of the remarkable women she’s encountered - each offering unique tales of resilience, wisdom and grace - and the lessons they’ve imparted.
She joins host Hilary Harper for an honest, thought-provoking and energising conversation about ageing with love and the spirit of rebellion.
Jacinta Parsons is a radio broadcaster and writer from Melbourne, Australia who has worked at community radio station Triple R, and for the ABC at Double J, ABC Radio Melbourne, and ABC Radio National.
Parsons currently hosts the Friday Revue and Saturday Mornings on ABC Radio Melbourne.
She has released three books, Unseen (2020), A Question of Age (2022) and her most recent in 2025 – an investigation on wisdom and the elder woman – A Wisdom of Age.
Hilary Harper is a massive book and radio nerd – she's spent 30 years on air, 20 at the ABC, and as far as she knows, is the only person to do a traffic report in haiku. She presented Life Matters for six years, and is now hosting weekdays on ABC Radio National, as well as writing, reviewing and interviewing about books. She's also writing a book of love stories. Her goal is one day to own enough bookshelves, and a wheelie ladder to reach them.
