For more than 15 years, Twilight Jazz at Montalto has been a much-loved summer tradition on the Mornington Peninsula - an evening where world-class musicians perform against a backdrop of vineyards, sculpture, and the setting sun. Now, in 2026, this annual event is evolving into Twilight Sessions at Montalto: a name that reflects the breadth of music to come, while keeping the heart of the event the same - unforgettable performances under the stars.
On Monday 5th January 2026, we are delighted to welcome The Bamboos - Australia’s premier funk and soul ensemble - who will lean into their soulful, jazz-inflected side for one extraordinary twilight performance as part of the Peninsula Summer Music Festival.
Since its inception, Twilight Jazz at Montalto has drawn audiences from across Victoria, eager to experience the perfect combination of music, wine, and summer on the Peninsula. Previous headliners have included the James Morrison Quartet and Tarryn Stokes, offering everything from classic jazz standards to soulful interpretations.
As the event has grown, so too has its reputation. Twilight Jazz at Montalto has become a true highlight of the Peninsula Summer Music Festival, consistently selling out and offering both relaxed lawn tickets and premium dining in The Restaurant.
In 2026, the event will continue this tradition with a refreshed identity: Twilight Sessions at Montalto. This evolution opens the door to a broader range of artists while holding onto what makes this night so special - the twilight setting, the calibre of performance, and the breathtakingly memorable Montalto experience.
Now in their 25th year, The Bamboos are one of Australia’s most celebrated live bands. Led by guitarist and producer Lance Ferguson and fronted by powerhouse vocalist Kylie Auldist, the nine-piece outfit is renowned for its infectious blend of funk, soul and groove.
With 11 studio albums, seven ARIA nominations, and collaborations with the likes of Tim Rogers, Aloe Blacc and Daniel Merriweather, The Bamboos have built an international reputation as trailblazers of modern funk and soul. Their shows are energetic, brass-driven and guaranteed to have audiences on their feet.
For their Twilight Sessions at Montalto performance, The Bamboos will lean into their jazzier influences, bringing a one-night-only set designed specifically for the Festival.

7.30pm – Two-hour performance, including interval
Guests can choose between two ways to enjoy the evening:
Lawn Tickets ($85 per person): Spread out a picnic rug on the lush lawn, with pizzas, picnic-style food and Montalto wines available to purchase. (Strictly no BYO food or drinks)
Restaurant Tickets ($250 per person): Begin with a glass of sparkling on arrival before sitting down to a three-course menu crafted with estate-grown and local produce.
Either way, it’s an opportunity to experience Montalto in full twilight mode - vineyards glowing in the sunset, sculptures dotted across the estate, and music filling the air.
