Mornington Peninsula
‘’The fruit for this Syrah came from two sites in Tuerong at the northern end of the Peninsula. A medium bodied and vibrant Syrah boasting all the typical characteristics expected from a cool climate style. The nose offers a complex array of fresh red fruits, think dark cherries, blood plums and raspberries. The fruit is supported by pepper, a little ink, olive, nutmeg, and black tea. Juicy fruit flavours of raspberry, plums and cherry combine on the palate supported by some white pepper, bay leaf, and subtle hint of liquorice. Supple tannins and bright acid make this a moreish and versatile food wine.''
Simon Black, Chief Winemaker.
REVIEWS
"Such an excellent colour, an enticing dark purple garnet; it’s not a big wine, but it is vivacious thanks to its acidity and light grainy tannins. A whorl of plums, star anise and a hint of pepper plus more savoury accents of tar and warm earth. Delicious wine.”
Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion.
