October is shaping up to be an exciting month!

We’re thrilled to announce the release of our 2024 Rosé lineup in just a few weeks. Our beloved Montalto Rosé will be back, joining the Pennon Hill and Sparkling Rosés after a brief hiatus.

With spring in full swing and days getting longer, we’ve also returned to our regular trading hours from 11am to 5pm.

In The Restaurant, Adam and the team are beautifully showcasing Julie’s fresh spring produce including asparagus, snow peas, globe artichokes – all amongst some of our most abundant harvests.

The 2016 Montalto Single Vineyard Red Hill Pinot Noir is the follow-up to the inaugural 2015 vintage from our Red Hill Block, the Montalto home vineyard at Red Hill South. It's a wine with an undeniable immediate-drinking appeal, but is sure to evolve into something even more complex over time.

Intense cherry and blood plum fruit are the driving force behind Montalto Single Vineyard Red Hill Pinot Noir, together with some earth and graphite aromas and a whisper of integrated oak.

A concentration of fruit together with an abundance of fine tannins and bright acidity provides length and structure.

There’s a minerality and savoury line flowing through on the long finish that will leave you wanting more, long after the bottle is (sadly!) empty.

Our 2016 Red Hill Pinot Noir is available exclusively throughout the month of October only, and is only in very limited supply. If you’re visiting us in Red Hill, you can enjoy 2016 Red Hill Pinot Noir as part of a tasting in The Cellar Door, or by the glass in both The Restaurant and The Piazza. While stocks last, retail purchases of single bottles (or cases) can be made via The Cellar Door or online via our website.

We’re excited to announce that we’ve extended our Mid-Week Lunch for 2 in The Piazza until Friday 29th November! Available Monday – Friday, enjoy lunch for 2 people in The Piazza for $99!

Includes 2 pizzas of your choice, a generous serving of our seasonal estate-grown leaves and a bottle of Pennon Hill wine of your choice.

The Piazza is open 7 days from 11am – 5pm (kitchen closes at 4pm). Mid-week bookings are now available and can be made online. On weekends, The Piazza is a walk-ins only space.

“With spring finally arrived, the first thing that comes to mind is, asparagus.  This will be cooked straight over the wood fire grill till just tender, served with a classic hollandaise with lots of freshly chopped dill. The estate is also full of wild garlic which will be a great accompaniment to the dish, the bulbs will be pickled, the tops turned into a vibrant green oil and the flowers will serve as nice garnish to finish the dish.”

“Spring is the time for new growth in our produce gardens and I’m harvesting the last of our winter crops to make way for summer plantings. Asparagus is now in abundance - along with snow peas, globe artichokes, cime di rapa, radishes and salad mix. Our green house is heaving with summer seedlings waiting their turn to be planted and our first strawberry crop is growing strong in our new caged area to thwart our various wildlife that would love to feast on them.”

Spring is one of the most beautiful times of the year for picnics as lush green growth appears across the estate – from the gardens to the vineyards, through the Sculpture Trail and our waterways, Mother Nature emerges from winter in all her glory. Enjoy our seasonal set menu which showcases the very best spring produce from our estate-gardens, along with a bottle of Montalto wine of your choice, set against a backdrop of crystal blue skies.

Picnics are available at 3 stunning private picnic sites (The Gums, The Copse & Half Moon) from Thursday – Monday from 11am sharp.
