All of us at Montalto are looking forward to a gradual reopening in the weeks and months ahead. We will commence on the weekend of 6th and 7th of June and will be offering our returning guests a "Feed Me" menu at $59 per person - which will be a generous selection of the best of our seasonal menu with the food and our service to the guest to be conducted in a casual and relaxed way. Children dine on a $39 “Feed Me” menu. We will offer this to guests in various locations across our estate, including the Piazza, Restaurant, as well as our Alto private dining rooms. We will offer this style of dining experience from Thursdays through Sundays for now, by reservation.

One of the most beautiful and peaceful ways to spend an afternoon at Montalto is enjoying your own private picnic. We’ve selected 3 of our most spectacular and exclusive sites for this year’s Winter Picnics: The Gums, Half Moon and The Copse.
Our new Winter Picnic Menu showcases an abundant selection of the absolute best estate-grown produce and locally sourced ingredients from across the Mornington Peninsula. Matched with a bottle of Montalto wine of your choice, its the perfect way to spend an afternoon with family and friends you might not have seen lately. If you're enjoying yourself so much and decide you'd like an extra bottle of wine delivered to your site, you can radio our Picnic Patrol and they'll hand-deliver your well-deserved wine asap!
Each site seats up to 6 guests and will be set with white linen, Montalto glassware and tableware along with cosy rugs and heaters to keep you warm throughout lunch. There’ll be plenty of hand sanitiser provided and all sites will be thoroughly sanitised between sittings.

We’re delighted to announce that we can host 10 minute self-guided, mini-flight wine tastings in our Cellar Door from Tuesday 2nd June to help wine lovers select the perfect bottle to take home and enjoy with friends and family. Let our Cellar Door team know what you like or what's for dinner and they’ll select the perfect mini-flight just for you!
Things will be a little bit different to how we used to conduct tastings as we will be strictly adhering to all government guidelines including best hygiene practises and social distancing. The most important change is that we’ll now be taking bookings for up to 6 people for our 10-minute wine tastings. If you’d like to pre-book a wine tasting, please give us a call. Walk-ins are still very welcome however there may be a short wait due to the number of people we’re allowed in the Cellar Door at any given time.

Developments after this opening weekend will be progressive, and we will be guided by external advice and our consideration of customer and staff safety and welfare. For now, our picnic sites and Sculpture Trail remain closed, and we're using the opportunity for a winter tidy-up. Stay tuned to this newsletter as we reopen our winter picnic sites from the 20th of June.
We are more committed than ever to providing a moment out of the ordinary for visitors, and extending our hospitality to our community. We will unfold exciting adjustments to our visitor experiences as part of our reawakening, taking in all areas of our estate in Red Hill.
We've enjoyed the increase in phone calls, and the online chat, as well as delivering wine, produce and meals from our Cellar Door, gardens and kitchens to many people over the past weeks, and we are forever grateful for the support. Montalto has been part of Red Hill and the Peninsula community for 18 years and we're excited to remain part of the local tourism and hospitality industry, and we have some exciting ideas for the future.
Our sister-estate, Tucks, will also reopen soon but for now, Tucks wine sales will remain in the Montalto Cellar Door and online.
