‘’2022 was a wonderful vintage for Syrah. Blueberries, Kirsch, and blackberry meld with a medley of fresh spices including star anise, cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. A playful wet-stone minerality adds further interest alongside some citrus and olive tapenade aromas. On the palate, generous dark cherry fruit fuses with bitter dark chocolate. The palate is seamless with chalk-like tannins and a cooling acid line giving the impression of reserved power.''

Simon Black, Chief Winemaker.

REVIEWS

“Tuerong is a warmer site on the peninsula, yet this shows a coolness as it’s neither weighty nor jammy. It’s refined, detailed and superfine. Everything is in balance – the fruit, the oak, the textural, raw-silk tannins and the uplifting acidity; it just tastes so good. The finest syrah on the peninsula hands down.” Score 96/100.

Jane Faulkner, 2025 Halliday Wine Companion.

WINEMAKING NOTES

Hand harvested fruit was meticulously sorted before destemming into 2T open
fermenters. The grapes were allowed to soak before the onset of wild ferment.
Following fermentation and a post ferment maceration period (21 days on skins in
total), the wine was pressed and transferred to 100% 1 year-old French oak barriques
for natural malolactic fermentation, followed by 11 months maturation prior to
bottling.
