SUMMER AT MONTALTO 2023/2024

Bathed in golden sunlight, the Mornington Peninsula is at its most breathtaking during summer. From the azure waves that embrace pristine shores, vibrant beachside villages which fizz with visitors, through to the lush hinterlands, every corner resonates with the symphony of cicadas and the gentle rustle of eucalyptus leaves.

Our estate is also at its most beautiful - a picturesque haven, where sapphire skies stretch out over the lush green vines, heavy with ripening fruit and the promise of award-winning wines to come. Our estate gardens groan with abundance - organic heirloom produce harvested daily ensuring a true estate to plate dining experience for all our visitors.

Here’s how to spend this summer at Montalto...

 

This summer, The Restaurant will be open every day* from Thursday 28th December 2023 – Monday 15th January 2024. From Friday 19th January, we’ll be back to our normal Friday – Monday lunches. (*We’re closed on Wednesday 3rd January and Wednesday 10th January). Bookings essential.

Every Saturday from Saturday 23rd December 2023 – Saturday 2nd March 2024, The Restaurant will be open for a very special Twilight sitting from 5.30pm. Our beautiful seasonal set menu will be available for this sitting. Numbers are strictly limited, bookings essential.

PRIVATE EVENTS

 

Proudly one of the most popular spots on the Mornington Peninsula for casual catch ups, The Piazza is in its absolute prime throughout the summer months. A quick reminder that The Piazza operates on a walk ins only basis for smaller groups of 10 people or less. For larger groups, online bookings are essential and available online. The Piazza is open 7 days, 11am – 5pm (kitchen closes at 4pm).

Our dedicated Lawn Bar will be open throughout summer (weather depending), serving drinks and snacks to enjoy on the lush lawn overlooking the vines.

Every Saturday from Saturday 23rd December 2023 – Saturday 2nd March, The Piazza will be open for Twilight sessions. We’ll be serving pizzas, snacks and award-winning wines – the perfect way to relax into a summer’s evening. Bookings are available for Twilight sessions however are strictly limited so get in quick!

BOOK TWILIGHT IN THE PIAZZA

 

The Cellar Door will be open from 11am - 5pm, 7 days a week throughout summer.

Every Saturday from Saturday 23rd December 2023 – Saturday 2nd March, The Cellar Door will be open for Twilight tastings and sales until 7.30pm. Bookings are available for Twilight sessions however are strictly limited. Walk ins welcome.

Picnics are available 7 days from 11.00am-sharp, for 2 - 8 people. For a very limited time, on weekends throughout December 2023 - January 2024, we can cater for larger groups from 8 - 12 people. This is by request only, and subject to availability. (Please note: we are unable to cater to larger groups for Twilight Picnics.)

Every Saturday from Saturday 23rd December 2023 - Saturday 2nd March 2024, Twilight Picnics will be available at 3 of our incredible picnic sites from 4.30pm - 7.30pm. Enjoy our spectacular summer menu as the late afternoons give way to warm balmy evenings.

The Montalto Sculpture Trail is open from 11am - 5pm, 7 days a week throughout summer and is free to enjoy for all visitors to our estate.

 

Montalto is closed to all visitors on Christmas Day (Monday 25th December 2023) and Boxing Day (Tuesday 26th December 2023).

PETS

Montalto is a wildlife sanctuary for birds and a working vineyard with organic estate gardens. With this in mind, unfortunately there are no pets allowed onsite.
