We’re thrilled to announce that our wine team have once again been recognised for their incredible hard work at the 2022 Mornington Peninsula Vignerons Wine Show – taking out the Provenance Awards for both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
The Provenance Awards are designed to assess consistency of quality, vineyard character, and winemaking style by looking at three vintages of a wine in detail.
Montalto’s winning wines are:
Chardonnay Provenance: 2015, 2017 and 2021 Montalto Estate Chardonnay
Pinot Noir Provenance: 2012, 2017 and 2021 Montalto Estate Pinot Noir
“Feeling blessed to be recognised for excellence in the Provenance classes at the MP Wine Show with not only our Chardonnay wines, but also for our Pinot Noir, across multiple vintages! This is testament to the dedication and unwavering commitment to excellence from our awesome vineyard and winery teams.” ~ Simon Black, Chief Winemaker.
“The Provenance Award at the 2022 Mornington Peninsula Vignerons Wine Show is a coveted award as it reflects outstanding wine over 3 years, not just a one off. To win for both Pinot and Chardonnay is absolutely brilliant. For this to happen several times in the last few years speaks to our great sites, wonderful vineyard management and superb winemaking. Thanks to the vineyard and winemaking teams, led by Simon Black and Dan Prior.” ~ John Mitchell, Montalto.
