Christabel Wigley Rorschach III 2021 Charred cedar on steel 350 x 300 x 50 cm $21,000
In Rorschach III, Wigley references the Rorschach test, a widely known psychological tool developed early last century, where a subject’s interpretation of mirrored inkblots may be analysed to develop insights into a subject’s character and emotional functioning. By inviting the viewer to perceive the world through her Rorschach windows, the artist subtly subverts the ‘test’ to offer perceptual insights into the self in connection with the living world all around.
In order to further support this incredible cause, we invite you to take a photo of Christabel’s sculpture and share it across your social media platforms ensuring you tag:
For each photograph you post, you go into the draw to win a $150 voucher to enjoy Montalto’s new Twilight session on a date of your choice plus a bottle of Montalto Cuvée One Sparkling. Entries close at 5 pm on Friday 14th May. The winner will be notified on Monday 17th May. The judge’s decision is final.
The Montalto Sculpture Prize is among the most valuable private sculpture prizes in Australia – and founders John and Wendy Mitchell have, once again, confirmed a prize value of $40,000 for 2021. The winning piece becomes part of the stunning Sculpture Trail at Montalto in Red Hill, on the Mornington Peninsula.
