Talking Tomatoes

Born into a family of farmers and gardeners, Karen Sutherland trained at Ceres, Melbourne Zoological Gardens, Burnley College and a Permaculture Design Certificate with Bill Mollison. She now specialises in edible and useful plants and opens her own garden, Gunyah, in Open Gardens Victoria.

Co-written with Penny Woodward and Janice Sutton, Tomato is a celebration of Australian heirloom tomatoes. Brimming with information about heirloom tomatoes, Tomato is set to become the go-to bible for serious growers and lovers of tomato and includes contributions from Julie Bennett and Montalto founder, Wendy Mitchell.

At Talking Tomatoes, Karen and Julie will share facts and expert advice on heirloom varietals, growing tips and recipe ideas before answering questions from the floor.

Tomato will be available to purchase and Karen will be on hand to personally sign your copy.

Admission to Talking Tomatoes includes a mimosa on arrival, tea, coffee and shared breakfast platters.
