Alongside most wineries in Australia, the team at Montalto yesterday were eagerly anticipating the release of the new 2020 Wine Companion, with more than 8,000 tasting notes. As the update slowly wound its way across the website, we were excited to see the Montalto name in both the “2020 Top-rated Chardonnay” and “2020 Top-rated Pinot Noir” lists, a tremendous achievement for Simon Black and his team in the vineyard and winery.
Six wines, in all, received scores of 95 points and higher.
In this report as well, our Montalto Estate Chardonnay 2017 was awarded 95 points ~ a continuation of the success of this wine, which has also won two gold medals (2018 National Cool Climate Wine Show & 2018 Mornington Peninsula (MPVA) Wine Show) as well as 95 points from writer Steve Lesczyzinski, QWine.
This follows an incredible year on the 2018 Australian Wine Circuit, capturing 19 trophies and 32 gold medals, as well as recent success in the James Suckling + Nick Stock Australian report.
