BARRETT AT MONTALTO
Taboo Lagoon was created for a themed exhibition titled Australia Outback, which informed both its title and its sculptural language.
Acquired from the 2007 Montalto Sculpture Prize, the work demonstrates Barrett’s precision with aluminium and his instinct for balancing weight, form and gesture.
Its placement on the Montalto grounds allows the reflective metal to shift with the natural light, giving the sculpture an evolving presence throughout the day and across the seasons.
