We're honoured that Montalto Estate Chardonnay 2016 has been given top billing among Victorian chardonnays in a recent Gourmet Traveller panel review.
Wine judge and writer Toni Paterson wrote: "This is a wine that is engaging from the start. Gorgeous grapefruity aromas with a hint of fresh cream and lemon curd. The palate is beautifully textured. it is a compelling mix of power and restraint. A well-handled sulphide influence. Delightfully pithy on the finish."
Nick Bulleid, writer and winemaking consultant added: "I loved it's fine, lemon aroma and thoughtfully managed complexity."
Commenting on the result, Montalto general manager Anthony Jones said, "Montalto has been on a stellar run in the show circuit and with independent reviews over the last few years culminating in this award for Best Victorian Chardonnay. Up against our excellent Victorian peers, this result is the most rewarding and satisfying of all and is a reflection of our continuous and unwavering commitment to excellence."
