This Black Friday, we’re opening the cellar to share a Bin End Collection of rare back vintages. Each of these wines has been carefully cellared at Montalto and is now released in limited quantities - around 10 dozen bottles per wine only. Once they’re gone, they’re gone for good.
These wines are a window into the evolution of Montalto’s Pinot Noir (and one standout Shiraz), showing how cool-climate structure, purity and elegance develop with time in bottle. Perfect for collectors, serious Pinot lovers, or anyone wanting to experience Montalto’s history in the glass.
Established in 1990, Main Ridge thrives in warm, dry years with lifted, delicate fruit flavours. This elevated site captures the best of both worlds: cool ripening conditions and a gentle, warming microclimate.
An elegant, finely structured Pinot with over a decade in bottle. Expect softened tannins, earthy depth, and lingering red fruits.
Established in 1995 at the northern end of the Peninsula, Tuerong ripens earliest with depth and body in its Pinot Noir. Sea breezes temper the warmth, producing ripe structural tannins and dark, brambly fruit character.
2013 Generous dark cherry fruit layered with oak spice and a savoury, mineral edge - now beautifully integrated after 10 years’ maturation.
2014 From one of our most expressive single sites, this vintage delivers savoury complexity, lifted spice, and silky persistence.
Established in 1998, Merricks balances inland warmth with cooling sea breezes from Western Port Bay. A consistently reliable site, it performs beautifully in both warm and cool years with poise and depth.
2014 A cooler vintage that has developed beautifully, showing forest floor notes, dried herbs, and bright acidity to carry the finish.
2016 A vibrant vintage that has settled into a plush, mid-weight style with raspberry and pomegranate fruit, balanced by earth and spice.
Established in 1986, Red Hill Block combines a northerly aspect with protection from cool southerlies. Old, dry-grown vines deliver remarkable depth for both Pinot Noir and our hallmark ‘The Eleven’ Chardonnay.
Classic Red Hill: perfumed, floral, with redcurrant and strawberry notes underpinned by fine, chalky tannins and bright acidity.
A rarity for the Peninsula - cool-climate Shiraz that balances pepper spice, dark berry fruit and savoury length. Matured gracefully, offering a distinctive expression of Red Hill terroir.
