Lemon and Lime sherbet, nashi pear, ripe nectarine, chalk and slate notes combine with some roasted hazelnuts aromas. There’s some stuck match, brioche and gentle oak aromas just to round out the package.

Juicy nectarine and peach flavours are supported by tangy acidity, together with a mineral lick and generous texture from the lees work, skin contact and oak handling giving richness and balance. This is a delicious Chardonnay with hallmark Montalto qualities exhibiting great varietal definition and regional expression.

The name Pennon Hill comes from the south facing slope on our home vineyard in Red Hill South. The wines are Mornington Peninsula regional blends and we’re aiming for bright, fresh wines with juicy, textured fruit flavours. The Chardonnay is barrel fermented (26% new French oak), while the Moscato, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc and Rose have little or no oak influence. In the reds, Pinot Noir, Tempranillo and Shiraz are made with 15-30% new oak.
