Never heard of this wine? There’s a good reason why. Cuttings from this varietal were incorrectly labelled and shipped to Australia as albarino, another grape varietal from Spain. After years of growing on the estate, in 2009 a DNA test revealed our albarino was, in fact, savagnin, a high-quality grape from eastern France. We’re incredibly lucky to have savagnin in the Mornington Peninsula, and Tucks Savagnin is unique in its fresh, bright and playful style. Citrus, pear and apple prance around on the palate, while a surprising package of spices softens into a creamy, lingering finish.
