This 2016 Chardonnay was originally labelled as Tucks Ridge 'Buckle Block' and was made in tiny quantities from the original ’85 planting on our north-facing site in Red Hill.
The new wave of chardonnays, particularly those from cool climates, are exciting wine drinkers everywhere. Our ‘goldilocks’ growing conditions here on the Pen (not too hot, not too cold, but just right) allows the grape to ripen slowly while retaining the freshness of natural acidity that’s so important to achieving balance with chardonnay, and Tucks Chardonnay is a cracking example of this. Stone fruit, citrus and mineral characters combine with a silky ribbon of toasty vanilla, brilliantly balanced by classic chardonnay bready notes.

The only time this ‘heartbreak grape’ will give you grief is when you finish the bottle. Mornington Peninsula pinot noir is at the top of its game right now, and nowhere is it more evident in our wine store fave, Tucks Pinot Noir. Drink in the pretty and playful aromas of red fruit and Christmas cake (let’s be honest, they had us at Christmas cake). Then sit back and let the good times roll, as deeper savoury characters enter stage left and take up the curtain call.
