Montalto Estate Cuvee One 2015 has a generous mouthfeel and richness with a darker, more golden colour profile. There’s lots of creamy autolysis mixed with toast and honey, citrus and stone fruit, together with some marzipan flavours.

Pennon Hill Sparkling Rosé is made from 100% pinot noir grapes. This dry, lightly sparkling Méthode Traditionelle wine shows delicate fruit flavours of strawberry and cream, teamed with crisp acidity and impeccable length. Perfect summer drinking.
Montalto Pennon Hill Pinot Noir 2017 offers red and blue fruits including red currants, blueberry, sour cherry, cranberry and a hint of wild raspberry combine with florals, dried herb, spice, and earthy forest-floor qualities.
On the palate, the generous, juicy red fruits of our Pennon Hill Pinot Noir 2017 meld with bramble and earth, whilst fresh acidity provides verve and a moreish drinkability to the wine.
French oak plays a lovely supportive role adding to the structure and flavour profile by way of mocha notes. Our Pennon Hill Pinot Noir 2017 is an entirely approachable pinot noir with excellent varietal and regional expression typical of the vintage.

Montalto Pennon Hill Rosé is a vibrant strawberry red in colour. Bright red fruits including strawberry, raspberry and cherry sherbet combine with a lick of watermelon and some lovely floral and spice qualities.
Saturating red fruits carry onto the textured and silken palate. The palate is generous, with lovely creamy qualities balanced by fresh natural acidity and a savoury long finish. A tremendous food wine.

Red and black cherry are the hallmark fruit qualities in the 2017 Montalto Estate Pinot Noir. Combine this with notes of black tea, blood orange, florals, spice, earth, dried herbs and forest floor, with a lick of tiramisu trailing from the oak and the result is a formidable and complex aroma profile.
The 2017 Montalto Estate Pinot Noir floods the palate with plenty of juicy red and black cherry fruit together with crushed raspberry. The sweet fruit is harnessed by some serious structural ripe tannin which carries the length of the palate and is supported by bright natural acidity and a long and savoury finish.
Food Match: Pork fillet.
Lemon and lime sherbet, nashi pear, ripe nectarine, chalk and slate notes combine with some roasted hazelnuts aromas. There’s some stuck match, brioche and gentle oak aromas just to round out the package.
Juicy nectarine and peach flavours are supported by tangy acidity, together with a mineral lick and generous texture from the lees work, skin contact and oak handling giving richness and balance. This is a delicious chardonnay with hallmark Montalto qualities exhibiting great varietal definition and regional expression.
Pure grigio scents of nashi pear and white florals combine with some mineral notes of slate and flint, together with some creamy lees aromas. On the palate, there’s freshness and a crunch of crisp fruit supported by a supple and textural framework. A perfect food wine - pair it with salt and pepper calamari.
2017 Royal Perth Wine Show - GOLD
Tempranillo is a cracking medium-bodied and diverse food-pairing wine with a wonderful flavour profile to match.
Our 2017 vintage is deliciously savoury. Mineral and steely notes combine with mulberry, raspberry, cherry, blood plum and leaf litter together with faint nuances of tar and leather. There’s a rustic earthiness and a whisper of French oak in the background.
On the palate, there’s plenty of juicy fruit to greet you and abundant plush tannins to carry the fruit. The initial blast of fruit sweetness slowly subsides to be replaced with a long and savoury finish.
Food Match: Chickpea and chorizo stew
The previous vintage of this wine scooped the awards table, with nods from all directions including Gourmet Traveller Victorian Chardonnay of the Year 2017 to an impressive 97 points from James Halliday.
This vintage saw a riper season, resulting in a slight shift towards of stone fruit. The usual citrus focus (lime, lemon, tangerine, grapefruit) is still evident together with the mineral, white florals and sulphide elements typical of the Estate Chardonnay.
The influence of French oak adds to the richness and mouthfeel of the wine. Tangy, natural acidity lends line and length to the palate. The addition of the aged lees brings further complexity by way of crème brûlée and brioche, whilst adding texture and mouthfeel.

Food match: Creamy chicken and mushroom fettuccini
The 2016 Montalto Estate Shiraz offers a complex array of fragrances including liquorice, black olives, pepper, nutmeg and cloves that combine with brooding black and blue fruits.
There's a gentle whole bunch fragrance and a nuance of dried herb adding to the complexity.
On the palate, the primary fruit flavours merge with some meaty and spicy notes and are well supported by soft French oak. The tannins are youthful and fine and the palate is rich and balanced with a long savoury finish.
Food match: Lamb Rack with Garlic and Rosemary
A beautiful example of a cool climate riesling, this wine is almost too light and pretty to drink!
Aromatic notes of white flowers, lime and mandarin combine with a pleasing touch of sherbet and talc.
The palate is fine and focused, with a tangy freshness that also reveals some lovely textural qualities.
All too easy drinking.

A single block wine made from grapes harvested from eleven rows of Chardonnay on our north-facing slope at our home vineyard site in Red Hill South. This site has an amazing expression of place and delivers premium quality fruit year in, year out.
Pale straw with green hues, the 2016 Montalto 'The Eleven' Chardonnay offers lemon, lime, tangerine & grapefruit combined with floral and mineral notes by way of slate and flint.
Crème brulee and brioche aromas fuse with hints of white florals. There is subtle oak influence by way of roasted hazelnuts with hints of struck match.
Purity and tension are the hallmark qualities of the 2016 Eleven Chardonnay. The palate has a tight, fresh citrus focus balanced with some white-flesh stone fruits including nectarine. There is remarkable drive here and a long and focused palate. Creamy mouthfeel from both oak handling and lees influence adds richness and texture.

Intensely fragrant, Montalto Single Vineyard Main Ridge Pinot Noir is a near perfect example of cool climate pinot noir.
Montalto Single Vineyard Main Ridge Pinot Noir offers a combination of red fruits including wild strawberry, raspberry, red currants and cherry with some dried herbal aromas of sage and bay leaf. Floral notes, spice, earth and forest floor are woven nicely through the primary fruit.
Careful oak handling imparts further complexity to the nose.
A concentration of fruit together with an abundance of fine tannins and bright acidity provides length and structure, making this wine a good prospect for extended cellaring.

The 2016 Montalto Single Vineyard Red Hill Pinot Noir is the follow-up to the inaugural 2015 vintage from our Red Hill Block, the Montalto home vineyard at Red Hill South. It's a wine with an undeniable immediate-drinking appeal, but is sure to evolve into something even more complex over time.
Intense cherry and blood plum fruit are the driving force behind Montalto Single Vineyard Red Hill Pinot Noir, together with some earth and graphite aromas and a whisper of integrated oak.
A concentration of fruit together with an abundance of fine tannins and bright acidity provides length and structure.
There’s a minerality and savoury line flowing through on the long finish that will leave you wanting more, long after the bottle is (sadly) empty.
The Montalto Single Vineyard Tuerong Block Chardonnay is a new addition to Montalto's Single Vineyard line-up; an interesting and worthy compliment to the iconic “Eleven” Chardonnay from our home vineyard.
This is a complex chardonnay with zesty grapefruit flavours and perfectly executed textural phenolics. It has length and intensity for days.

Montalto Single Vineyard 'Tuerong Block' Pinot Noir has a loyal and long-standing fan base, and with good reason.
The Tuerong Block Pinot Noir is a highly aromatic wine displaying immense complexity. Blackberry and kirsch notes combine with graphite, cherry, and earthy undertones. There’s that characteristic whole-bunch green and fragrant perfume hovering together with some subtle dried herbs and black olive. The palate is structured and shows restraint and elegance as the saturating fruits dissolve into a satisfying savoury finish.
This wine will reward cellaring - if you can wait that long to drink it.

Montalto Single Vineyard 'Merricks Block' Pinot Noir 2016 is fresh and bright with lovely rare purity and generosity.
Bury yourself in red berries, blue fruits, spice and some bushland fragrance on the nose. Savoury and forest undergrowth flavours add an extra dimension to the primary fruit qualities and combine nicely with some smoky oak notes.
Montalto Single Vineyard 'Merricks Block' Pinot Noir always shows a sensuous tannin profile and this vintage is no exception. It has a dry spicy finish of excellent length. Enjoy it while you can; with just 190 cases produced this one won't be on the shelves for long.

The unmistakable sauvignon blanc aromas of passionfruit and lychee combine with mixed peel and marzipan, together with some faint grassy notes. Perfectly layered, there is an immense concentration of fruit, with spicy warmth and fresh, natural acidity.
