The perfect Peninsula venue for your special occasion
When you choose to enjoy your celebration under our roof, we feel privileged – and we want you to feel rewarded for sharing that time with us.
Montalto’s restaurant reflects the same sense of elegance and refinement you find in our wines.
Our friendly staff will do their best to make sure you not only have a great day or night out, but also a wonderful experience.
And what an experience.
We think you’ll love our idyllic location on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula as much as we do.
Vines and olive groves that stretch as far as the eye can see. Striking pieces of modern sculpture dotted across the landscape. A setting sun that casts a long shadow across the south slope of Pennon Hill.
You’ll see what we mean when you step onto the outdoor deck for welcome drink and canapés.
Just a few paces to the right are our oldest and best vines – 11 lovingly cared-for rows that produced our award–winning 2013 Eleven Chardonnay.
And why not take a wander down among the vines that form the basis of our signature pinot noir range.
That’s a really great aspect of a Montalto visit – you get to experience the stunning surrounds rather than just look at them. A bit like being inside an amazing painting.
Mornington Peninsula hospitality at its best
Regional France provides the inspiration for the wonderful dishes created by our head chef, Gerard Phelan.
He leads a Chefs Hat restaurant consistently voted one of the Peninsula’s best.
The produce is overwhelmingly local. And by local, I mean right here at the vineyard.
Gerard’s staff pick vegetables and herbs from our very own garden, just a few steps from the restaurant deck.
Wendy’s Kitchen Garden has been cultivated by Montalto’s co-owner, Wendy Mitchell. She has also created an orchard that produces delicious figs and apples, and mouth-watering raspberries and rhubarb.
Our friendly staff will also help tailor the most suitable wines to match your food.
You get the best possible service, while the atmosphere remains warm and relaxed.
An occasion you’ll always cherish
From our restaurant manager:
People often ask me: “What makes a special occasion at Montalto so special?”
I immediately think of the award-winning dishes and wines, the fantastic service and, obviously, our jaw-dropping location.
But ultimately I think the most important factor is you.
I can’t tell you how much enjoyment I get from seeing the smiles on the faces of a couple celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary with their extended family. And we’ve hosted a few of those.
Or the joy on the faces of newlyweds just starting out on life’s great journey.
Having a great time with loved ones, and a day or night out they will always cherish. That sums up the unique Montalto experience.
Whatever the occasion, we’ll do our best to make it more than memorable.
