Presented in partnership with the Wheeler Centre.
With a career spanning over thirty years as a radio and television presenter, Norman Swan is a stalwart of the Australian media landscape. He’s presented ABC’s 7.30 and Four Corners and has been a frequent guest on The Drum and ABC Radio. More recently, Swan became a voice of truth and reason for thousands of Australians during the pandemic as the host of the ABC’s daily Coronacast podcast.
Over lunch at Montalto, Swan will discuss his career as a medical professional in the public eye, and his new book So You Think You Know What’s Good for You?. Bundling wellbeing and health tips, the book provides a practical and factual perspective, sans sensationalism.
Join one of Australia’s most trusted medical voices for a conversation about public health and communicating in a crisis. Hosted by Sally Warhaft.
Trained in paediatrics, Norman Swan was one of the first medically qualified journalists in Australia, with a broadcast career spanning more than 30 years. He currently hosts Radio National’s The Health Report and co-hosts Coronacast. He also reports on 7.30 and is a guest reporter on Four Corners; appears on The Drum and is an occasional host of Radio National Breakfast. In addition to being an active journalist and health broadcaster, Swan has a deep strategic knowledge of the Australian healthcare system and is committed to evidence-based approaches to help young people, which is why he sits on the board of the Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth. He was also the co-founder of Tonic Media Network, a health channel that plays in GPs’ waiting rooms.
Tickets are $120 and include a beautiful 2-course menu in The Restaurant at Montalto.
