12th-14th June - Winter Wine Weekend (Queen's Birthday)
Montalto is celebrating Mornington Peninsula’s Winter Wine Weekend with three days of exciting wine offerings! Join us on Saturday 12th at the Red Hill Showgrounds for the Winter Wine Weekend Public Tasting as we join nearly 80 other Mornington Peninsula wineries in showcasing a selection of our wines at the Peninsula’s biggest wine event of the year. Stop by our stall and meet Simon Black, our newly appointed winemaker, who has just completed his first vintage at Montalto.
Make sure to stop by Montalto on Sunday as you tour your way around the Peninsula’s cellar doors. On Sunday we are offering wine tasting of our large range of wines for $7.50 per head, including a free tasting glass. The Piazza Café will be serving lunch from 12-3 all long weekend. Our cellar door is open 11-5pm every day.
Monday will mark the release of an eagerly anticipated wine: the 2008 Lake Block Pinot Noir, our first Single Vineyard Pinot Noir. This is the only day this wine will be open for tasting. Stop by and have a taste of this wonderful Pinot Noir, produced from the oldest block of Pinot vines on our Estate. But be quick—an early score of 96/100 from James Halliday combined with very limited production mean that this wine will be gone fast!

Sunday 3rd October - First (wine) Sunday of the month at Montalto
Starting in October, we will be dedicating the first Sunday of every month to...wine! This will be the time to come along and learn something new, taste something special, engage with us on all aspects of wine. We are putting together a really exciting calendar of activities but here is the start: On 3 October, 11 - 3pm winemaker Simon Black will bring down a barrel each of 2010 vintage Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz to the Cellar Door for you to taste. Understand the development of wine in the barrel and get a sneak peek of what is to come. This is a free event, so come along and check it out!
Saturday 9th October - Montalto, Moorooduc Estate and Ocean Eight
We are pleased to be joining with two other multi-generational wine families - the McIntyres of Moorooduc Estate and the Aylwards of Ocean Eight to discover the beauty of Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir. At our three Five Star Halliday rated wineries we will explore regional, growing and winemaking nuances taking you behind the scenes, to taste wine out of barrel, explore back vintages and special releases.

A sublime marriage of food and wine in the Chef’s Hat rated Montalto Restaurant. Chef Barry Davis will create a beautiful four course meal matched with wine from all three estates, presented by owners and winemakers.
Cost - $150 pp all inclusive.
We will also offer a bus service from Montalto around the wineries and back to Montalto, if we have enough people, for $15 per head, saving you the trouble of navigating the back roads!
